The AFTERMATH: FUPART @ Fleatique’s Flea Market at 8Q.

June 2nd, 2009 § 0

Just a few days ago, we had a booth at 8Q touting our T-shirts. It was really our worst flea market. Not because there wasn’t customers, it’s just that, the sun was just too harsh! My store’s position wasn’t really ideal too. It was pretty much in the sun later in the day and there were seemingly people who were just deterred by the sunlight from coming near to our booth. Luckily, we were not the worst. There are worst placements of other booths.

Other than that, Fleatique has yet again, organised a successful flea market!
We made some friends along the way, like the booth beside us are owned by T-shirts printers themselves! They are building up something like the Singapore’s “Threadless“. Pretty cool.

And again, let the pictures speak for themselves.
The Humble Booth of FUPART :D

THE HEAT! These booth on the outside are the worst. Imagine tending your store for 6 hours straight in the sun. Free suntanning.

And here’s the Jump Away tee. Nice huh?

All in all, this event is a success! We garner more attentions to our locally designed t-shirts and we hope to move on to bigger things in the future!

Special thanks goes out to Felix who has been photographing and helping out at our flea event! Not to forget too, another good friend who came along and braved the sunny weather with us… Thanks!

FUPART’s May UPDATES and Writeup on Flea.Fly.Flo.Fun MAY Session!

May 26th, 2009 § 0

Hey!, how’s everyone doing? We just returned from Fx4 May Session and well the response was rather.. lukewarm but it’s still encouraging!

But, we still need more exposures!

We have really interesting stuffs in the pipeline and we really hope to propel FUPART into a greater future. We didn’t start out with a bang with this small indie brand because we don’t really have the financial capability(therefore the limited exposure). This month’s looking bleak, and i hope next month will be better!
We are still greatly appreciative of those who’ve been supporting us along the way!

The long awaited UPDATES:

- New designs are in the pipeline, there are currently only 2 designs being conceptualized in the next release, so.. stay tuned!
- We are actually going towards a more premium outlook using higher grade materials in our products. And, we are NOT just a blogshop(although we are currently operating through a blog). We are a brand, and we take serious pride in that!
- NEXT EVENT IS @ 8Q(Next to Singapore Art Museum) on 31st MAY! Details will be released soon.
- Blog needs a revamp and main site needs to be launched! (it’s a one man job now though, so it will take awhile but hopefully a full re-launch by JUNE!)

And our experience at Fx4 May Session, with pictures of course.

Above: Our humble booth, in simple setup. (the guy’s from the booth just beside us, a great guy who accompanied his girlfriend to this flea :D )

Above: Quite a big crowd.. but not much male audience in the midst. But there are a no. of females that came up to give us a look.
P.S. Our T-shirts are actually unisex, and i’ve had a number of female customers.

photo4
And.. our humble booth again, with no-frills setup. A local indie brand in the midst of all the 2nd hands grabs and female blogshops touting their wares. Lotsa cheap stuffs, but definitely not from us. I do believe that, you pay for what you get!

No, we didn’t break even, but it’s still encouraging, that people are coming up to us and commenting that we are doing great designs and coming up to join our mailing list for future updates!

PICTURES: I Don’t Want To Set The World on Fire T-Shirt. DESIGNED AND PRINTED IN SINGAPORE.

April 14th, 2009 § 0

This time round we are back with better quality products. Printing on well-known American T-Shirts, Gildan(S,M,L) and Anvil(XL), we want to bring you the best quality to match the price we are offering it at.

This design was freaking difficult to print by silkscreen method(the most durable and top quality t-shirt printing method) as it involves alot of adjustment to the contrast to bring out the best graphics. But we worked with the printers very closely, and here’s our production.

Description:
“I Don’t Want to Set the World On Fire” is a 1941 song by The Ink Spots
and is recently popularised by appearing as one of the songs in the game Fallout 3.
This artwork seeks to reenact the post war atmosphere.
The Hiroshima Bombing is used as the main pictorial representation of the end of the war and the start of an arms race.
The sufferings due to the aftermath of the prolonged war, is portrayed by the tears droplets
that are dripping from the eye.
The other picture used is of the World’s first view of the Earth. The crescent of the
Earth was photographed on August 23, 1966. It signifys the rapid technological advancement
in the post war era.
Lastly, the baby which is mildly visible at the botton of the artwork, is a sign of the baby
boomer generation after the war. Looking upon what has happened in the world before,
tears streamed down from his eyes.

PICTURES: FUPART was at Singapore Art Museum Flea Market and NUS on 27th and 26th MARCH!!!

March 31st, 2009 § 0

Yeah, we are back from our crazy sales over at both flea market with Singapore Art Museum’s Fleatique as the highlight of both days!

It was a blast at SAM and is the best flea market to date for FUPART!

Nothing speaks louder than pictures :D
img_0023
Even before the night falls, the crowd was already gaining in strength. I was rather appalled by the number of people who came forward and ask about us and our designs!

img_0022
When it got dark, the crowd was better with people streaming in. The temperature was terribly high though.

img_0020
Here’s our humble booth selling our first ever designs and showcasing our new designs with a actual printout of one of the design! From 7pm to 2am(but we left at 1am as we were too tired)

We had a great day over there and i am really looking forward to the next flea-ti-que night edition!

On the previous day, we had flea market at NUS organised by OMS, a club in NUS.
It was a great event, but the crowd was rather small. Most people were just rushing for classes and by passing the area. And yes, NUS students doesn’t seems to dig flea markets on their home ground. But that said, we had a few inquiries into our designs and yes, we have people coming up and expressing their interest in our new designs.
So it wasn’t that bad after all. Although i sat there stoning most of the time.
At the very least i received a bundle of botak jones $5 voucher which we didn’t manage to give out. Drank a few cups of milo and saw the red bull team giving out free red bulls from their mini convertible. Cool.

You can really see the effort put in by the organiser to get so much stuffs going at the event. But the crowd doesn’t respond to most of it(except the free milos and red bulls) So, kudos to the organisers for the great event over at NUS.

Didn’t manage to take any photos for the event though.
