Just a few days ago, we had a booth at 8Q touting our T-shirts. It was really our worst flea market. Not because there wasn’t customers, it’s just that, the sun was just too harsh! My store’s position wasn’t really ideal too. It was pretty much in the sun later in the day and there were seemingly people who were just deterred by the sunlight from coming near to our booth. Luckily, we were not the worst. There are worst placements of other booths.
Other than that, Fleatique has yet again, organised a successful flea market!
We made some friends along the way, like the booth beside us are owned by T-shirts printers themselves! They are building up something like the Singapore’s “Threadless“. Pretty cool.
And again, let the pictures speak for themselves.
The Humble Booth of FUPART
THE HEAT! These booth on the outside are the worst. Imagine tending your store for 6 hours straight in the sun. Free suntanning.
All in all, this event is a success! We garner more attentions to our locally designed t-shirts and we hope to move on to bigger things in the future!
Special thanks goes out to Felix who has been photographing and helping out at our flea event! Not to forget too, another good friend who came along and braved the sunny weather with us… Thanks!
The Holiday’s coming! So do drop by 8Q(just beside Singapore Art Museum) and chill out with us! Join us on Facebook, Twitter or our mailing list(on the right sidebar of this blog) too!

So, CHECK US OUT THIS WEEKEND(Saturday) @ Home Club between 2am-10pm!!!
Yeah, we are back from our crazy sales over at both flea market with Singapore Art Museum’s Fleatique as the highlight of both days!
It was a blast at SAM and is the best flea market to date for FUPART!
Nothing speaks louder than pictures
Even before the night falls, the crowd was already gaining in strength. I was rather appalled by the number of people who came forward and ask about us and our designs!
When it got dark, the crowd was better with people streaming in. The temperature was terribly high though.
Here’s our humble booth selling our first ever designs and showcasing our new designs with a actual printout of one of the design! From 7pm to 2am(but we left at 1am as we were too tired)
We had a great day over there and i am really looking forward to the next flea-ti-que night edition!

On the previous day, we had flea market at NUS organised by OMS, a club in NUS.
It was a great event, but the crowd was rather small. Most people were just rushing for classes and by passing the area. And yes, NUS students doesn’t seems to dig flea markets on their home ground. But that said, we had a few inquiries into our designs and yes, we have people coming up and expressing their interest in our new designs.
So it wasn’t that bad after all. Although i sat there stoning most of the time.
At the very least i received a bundle of botak jones $5 voucher which we didn’t manage to give out. Drank a few cups of milo and saw the red bull team giving out free red bulls from their mini convertible. Cool.
You can really see the effort put in by the organiser to get so much stuffs going at the event. But the crowd doesn’t respond to most of it(except the free milos and red bulls) So, kudos to the organisers for the great event over at NUS.
Didn’t manage to take any photos for the event though.
These are the confirmed upcoming events for MARCH where we’ll be having a booth. We will be showcasing our 2 new designs at these booths, so hop by to give us a look!
For 26th March 2009…
(we will be here for just one day..)
First up, it’s the one at NUS, featuring Indie vendors(like yours truly). If you are in NUS, come down and give us a look Original Music Society (OMS) proudly presents Lunchtime Invasions 2009 – 2 fun-filled days of great music by local independent musicians, all happening amidst flea market shopping, food & drinks. This OMS-organized event will be held on the 26 and 27 March, and its one event that is definitely not to be missed.
Lunchtime Invasions is a unique concept that blends the NUS culture of bazaars with OMS’s own influence – Great independent music by everyday Singaporeans like you & me. Hence, there will be original music, along with the usual bazaar elements of flea market and food… with a slight twist!
The bands that are all set to rock out on stage are a dynamic bunch of musicians with different styles, ranging from acoustic to electro, powerpop, and progressive post-rock. Be prepared to be entertained by their original music and take that first step into our ever growing local music scene..
For those of you who want to hunt for great shopping bargains, tantalizing food, awesome music or simply just want to enjoy your lunchtime in style, come on down to the Forum this 26 & 27 March! We welcome everyone to join in the fun, and promise a unique & refreshing lunchtime experience.

Was at MAAD on Saturday and Sunday on the previous week and it was overall a good event. MAAD stands for Market of Artists and Designers, and they are really not lacking in both of the latter. It’s more of a mini meetup every first week of the month for all the artists to get together and tout their arts to the general public and many of them are art appreciators.
It’s quite a different side to the usual Singapore there, in a artsy way.
Anyway thanks to Joanna from (i forgot her blog link) for lending me her camera, which i took these pictures.
Pretty spacious. That’s where i spent the weekend, on that red chair.
Another take of my own space, this looks better than the previous flea market eh?
This picture shows the people who were beside me and i befriended some of them..
From left, it’s Richard with his superb handmade cards. If you ever need Birthday cards and such, get it from him. They make some of the best cards, which opens up into a 3d form, like one of which is an Eiffel Tower.. get the picture?(Sorry i didn’t have a picture to show ya!) Oh yeah, they customise cards too if you need them to!
His blog is here RichardJervis.blogspot.com
The middle booth was selling handmade roses and handbagss and they were pretty cool. Didn’t actually talk to them, but they have good stuffs.
The one of the right is selling handmade pins, mini dolls and stuffs. Very intricated and creative designs. Oh yeah her mum was a great help on both days.
View her works here>> MOMSHOO
Very cool event, and though i made a loss over 2 days,(barely making back half of the booth cost) i enjoyed the whole event and will probably be back there. Not next month, that’s for sure, but will be there when my new designs rolls out. April? Probably
Was there at Flea.Fly.Flo.Fun with friends and sharing a space with Affairee, since i don’t really need such a big space for just 4 designs. It’s the first flea market for FUP, and it was a great one though sales was not ideal.
Special thanks to friends who were there and who took snapshots and people at Affairee for taking photos for my mini booth.
It’s really mini.
Upon reaching to the site, i was quite shocked to find that the tables were… so freaking small. And i had no clothing racks. But luckily, all i got was, 4 designs so, it’s still mission possible to display them in a nice way.
The intention was to setup something of an exhibition booth… Part of the main idea was to showcase our stuffs, apart from selling the t-shirts.
After a while, we thought of hanging up our T-Shirts on the wall as our booth was too mini and not that prominent. This turns out good as a number of people stared with curiosity at our hanging T-Shirts as they pass by.
There were a few interested people who came up to our booth, read up on our T-shirt designs and some even took photographs of them. Have no idea who are they and where are they from though! I think there were some film arts students on the scene itself and i think we were caught on film.
The highlight of the day was this mini interview by.. EDITED: Found out who she is. She’s SOO, one of the hosts of the show Live’n'Loaded
This is the first time i am in such a surprise interview though. Was kinda stumped as my brain wasn’t working quite well due to terrible flu.
And here’s the funny part. SOO: So are you the pink geek? My friend: …
Okay, this pretty sums up the whole event for us.
And i would really like to look at the video they filmed, LOL!
Although we our sales numbers weren’t too ideal, but we got lots of exposure for FUP, which is good as we’ve just started out!
And do continue to give your support to us!!! Oh yeah, we are still offering..
SPECIAL THANKS TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE HELPED OUT AND BOUGHT FROM US IN THIS EVENT! Fee Chan for his support for FUP and his presence makes a big difference on the day. Kahmin for helping me to deliver my stuffs back. It was a really great help. Mak for his support for coming down halfway through the event
And Cherie from Affairee, for sharing half the space with me! If not, i would not have been able to cover my cost!
